ComNet offers automatic backup connection management.

What this means is that you can define alternate connections which ComNet would use if a current connection fails.

You can use ComNet to add backup connection capability to your existing sessions, because ComNet allows any-to-any protocol configurations and that includes an any-to-same protocol configuration.

Example: ComNet adds multiple backup TCP/IP connections to an existing Application's single TCP/IP connection:

Before: Shown below is an existing application which uses a single TCP/IP connection.

After: The same application now connects to ComNet instead, which will provide multiple backup connections transparently to the application.

Note: ComNet can provide backup connections on each end of a session. The diagram below shows the addition of multiple backup host applications.
